TomsFlat helps after explosion in Wolfenbüttel
Braunschweig, November 10, 2025
After the tragic explosion in Wolfenbüttel, the strong sense of solidarity in our region becomes evident. Tom Haubold, founder and host of TomsFlat, immediately offered support to those affected and provides his furnished apartment in Braunschweig as temporary housing insurance stay in Braunschweig.
“I just wanted to help,” explains Tom Haubold in an interview with the news portal News38.de. His apartment offers 75 square meters of space with three rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, dryer, underfloor heating, and a private parking space with EV charging. “From the beginning, the idea was to create a place where people could instantly feel at home,” says Haubold.
In the past, TomsFlat has hosted several families whose homes became uninhabitable due to fire or water damage. Even after the fire in Ekbertstraße in 2023, Tom was able to help spontaneously and accommodate a family in his apartment. Many affected people initially stay with friends or family, but after some time it can get cramped. A comfortable holiday apartment with sufficient space, a private kitchen, and a homely atmosphere is often the better solution – especially for families, expats, or relocation stays in Braunschweig and surrounding areas.
The TomsFlat Industrial Design apartment is centrally located in Braunschweig and is an ideal base for guests from the city center, Weststadt, Eastern Ring Area, Vechelde, Salzgitter, Meine, and the Wolfenbüttel region. Sustainability is important: the accommodation runs on green electricity and is modern, cozy, and fully equipped – perfect for short- or long-term stays.
“It’s always a wonderful feeling to give people back a bit of normality in difficult times,” says Haubold. His offer of help has already been widely shared and positively commented on social media – a sign that community spirit and compassion are still alive in Braunschweig.
